the broader church
mission relief
Speaking of proclaiming the Gospel, Paul calls us (the Church) to make the most of our opportunities. We have been called to bring the Gospel not only to our local community but to the wider world. From time to time Riverview is made aware of missionary projects from around the globe that require financial input to continue spreading the word of God.
An example of one project where a small financial contribution is able to facilitate great things is the Honiara Bible School in the Solomon Islands. Started in 1991, the school gives training to local pastors in preparation for ministry, and more recently to anyone who has a desire to learn the word of God. The relatively small financial support we have donated to the Honiara Bible School will enable more students from not only the Solomon Islands, but from Vanuatu, PNG and Nauru to attend.
church together
Since its inception, the annual Church Together event has become synonymous with the growing unity amongst churches in Perth and Western Australia, and has since been initiated in other cities around Australia and New Zealand.
The Church Together event makes a unified statement to the broader community and it gives individuals a chance to see how powerful a unified Church can be. Being a city-wide event, a committee comprising of twenty churches from multiple denominations is involved in the planning, production and running of the annual Church Together event.
500 plus network
Over the last ten years, the 500Plus Church Network has continued to expand globally, bringing pastors of large and growing churches together to learn from and encourage one another.
Phil has often said that part of our destiny is found in other people. We have seen through this network, as these churches connect, the transference of ideas, vision and faith, as well as the strengthening of relational connections.
building business leaders
Evolving from the Building Business Leaders Breakfasts (BBLB), the BBL Network is a pre-evangelistic bridge committed to reaching the broader business community. As a secular event, BBLBs are an opportunity for business people within the Church to bring their unchurched associates, employees and friends to a forum dedicated to leadership growth.
Partnering with churches around Australia and New Zealand the BBL Network ministry has seen many people get connected to the local church over the years.
