cultural communities
Riverview Church is a vastly multi-cultural Church. We have observed that the affinity that resonates within two or more people of the same cultural background provides great potential for establishing and building community.
Riverview Cultural Communities provide the following:
1) A Support Network
One key responsibility for these communities is to provide support to people who have moved to Australia from overseas. The key resource available is a group of people who more than likely have experienced similar challenges when they themselves had moved to Australia and with these challenges have an gathered a knowledge base.
2) Hospitality
Within these groups key leaders will be able to show some more hospitality by arranging to meet with the new people in a smaller setting.
3) Referral
Cultural Communities have the Pastoral support of Riverview Church and community support through Riverview Community Services.
4) Social Gatherings
A key component of Cultural Communities is Social Gatherings. These gatherings provide a regular opportunity for people to meet.
