One of our distinctives at Riverview is that "We are to be an intelligent Church". We endeavour to present Christianity in an intelligent and thought-provoking way.
In line with this distinctive we have a number of connection pathways that have the purpose of equipping the people of Riverview Church for the Christian journey. From comprehensive counselling to short courses to full-time Leadership College, we have something for people at all stages in their Christian walk. Riverview offers the following Equip pathways:
- Accelerate
- Riverview Leadership Courses
- Family and Marriage Courses
- Soul Health courses
- Professional Counselling courses
For more information please follow the links or come back to the lounge after any weekend service

Accelerate is an opportunity to learn and grow together through intentional and detailed study of Christian belief and practice. It will provide in-depth teaching on our monthly themes and help us to grapple with what we believe, why we believe it and what difference it can make in our lives. Accelerate is provided free of charge and registration is not required, so please feel welcome to come along to any of the sessions.
Participant notes and podcasts can be downloaded here.
Accelerate is available at the following church campuses 7:30-9:00pm on a weekly basis during the months of May, July, September and November of 2008.

family&marriage
For all societies the foundational relationship unit is the family. While this unit has seen many variations it still remains the most important structural unit within society.
The establishment of the family, through the creation of Eve, was God's first act of creation in response to a problem, the aloneness of Adam. (Genesis 2:18, 21-24)
These intimate relationships of marriage and family are meant to be a physical picture for us of the perfectly intimate relationship God wants to have with all of us.
For these reasons the establishment of strong, family focused events and programmes is vital to the generational health of the Church and is part of Riverview Church's commitment to the discipleship of their partners.
Family and Marriage Courses:

Have you ever found yourself asking these questions;
- Why on earth did we ever have children?
- What is wrong with me as a parent?
- What is wrong with this child? Why does he/she want to do things so differently from me?
Have you ever heard yourself speaking like your mum or dad use to speak to you as a child, and was horrified at the sound?
Do you want to be friends with your children for the rest of your life?
Do you sometimes feel inadequate in knowing how to instil appropriate life skills in your children?
Would you like to have a home where fun, security and enjoyment of each member of the household is the norm?
Or maybe your parenting is going really well but you'd just like a check-up.
Principled Parenting is designed to equip you with ideas and skills that will help to answer of these questions.

Gary Chapman, author of The Four Seasons of Marriage and The Five Love Languages, makes this compelling point;
Our goal with Devoted is to help you take a poor marriage to a good marriage, a good marriage to an excellent marriage and an excellent marriage to a lifetime of unity.
Come and join us to discuss such topics as;
- Who's the opposite sex really?
- How come we think so differently?
- What does it mean to truly love, respect, trust and understand?
- Communicating - "I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant?"
- Sex - thermometer and thermostat
- Planning for the future
