discipleship journey
The great joy of walking with God is that the more we learn, the more we grow and the more exciting the trip becomes.
The discipleship journey is a lifelong journey that starts long before we personally choose to believe in God. It is a series of intentional steps towards God, so that we gradually find Him central and essential for our everyday being and doing.
A simple pathway for your discipleship journey with Christ at Riverview is the following:
tips to help you on your journey:
1. Intentional On-going Decisions
We can all become lazy, passive or distracted about our spiritual growth.
It is important to regularly take a personal inventory on our current attitude and situation, and consider where we are going rather than simply thinking that the passing of time will inevitably move us towards knowing God.
2. Journey Points
Along the discipleship journey there will be times that both reflect and develop our Christian faith. Although the journey is not the same for every person, it is in these moments we personally need to decide to trust God and grow-up in our relationship with Christ.
3 We Need People
Though we set out on the Journey alone, we need people to spur us on in our faith.
We encourage every person to be part of a local community of Christians and to find a place to learn, grow and be challenged. On our discipleship journey both people and scripture can shine a light on the path ahead to help us make the journey safely and surely.
