Welcome to the February edition of Cockburn Central News!

Well the year is into full swing now and we are looking forward to what God is going to do in and through the Cockburn Campus over the next 12 months. Let’s all be expectant and ready for anything God may lead us in to this year. Adam and I really feel that Riverview Cockburn is meant to be a light and a blessing to the surrounding community. We’re not sure exactly what that means right now but we are excited to see what will unfold over the coming months.

There’s exciting times ahead so let’s take a look at what’s happening in February at Riverview Cockburn Central…

Let’s not beat around the bush, we need more Connect Group Leaders. We currently have gobs of people wanting to attend a Connect Group but nowhere for them to go. The next Connect Group Leader Training course starts this weekend the 3rd Feb and runs for four weeks. If you’re keen then please let Barbara know and we will get you registered. Unfortunately, until we get some more groups up and running we can’t run another mix. However if you are looking for a Connect Group then please email me with your details so that I can let you know when the next mix is.

The act of getting baptised is an important part of the Christian journey. If getting baptised is something that you would like to do then please let me know. We are looking to hold our next lot of baptisms in March sometime.

Calling all early birds. We will now be holding a prayer meeting at the Cockburn Campus every Wednesday morning from 7:30am to 8:30am. Come for an hour, half an hour or 15 minutes. We would love to see as many of you there as possible.

OK, here’s the current plan of attack in regards to our parking issues. We are going to leave the service time as is (apologies to those of you who were looking forward to an extra half an hours sleep on a Sunday morning). What we are going to do instead is to make the parking out the front of our building and the building next-door “Family Parking”. This means that if you have kids or if walking longish distances is difficult for you then you can park in either of those places. If however you have two good legs and are free of little people who have no road sense whatsoever then could you please park on the other side of Hammond Road or on the road on Cooper Road. We will have flyers available soon which will detail all of this.

Hertime will be commencing again on the 7th February at the Burswood Campus at 10am. If you are a woman and you are free on a Thursday morning then you need to be there. Heather Baker will be kicking of the year with a message on Dreams and Vision. The cost is $7 and there are child-minding facilities but make sure you get there early. 20 March - Hertime Days hits cockburn - stay tuned...

We will be holding a Baby Dedication during the service on the 17th February. If you have a new baby or a child of any age that you haven’t yet had dedicated and would like to then please let me know.

Oh for the day that this heading is redundant! Unfortunately there is nothing new to report, just that we are still waiting patiently. Will let you know as soon as we know something.

We are thinking of organising a pick up and drop off service for those of you who are catching the train to the 10am service. If this is something you would be interested in then please let me know or register your details at the Info Desk on Sunday morning.
