We are now into September so our move to two services isn’t far away.  We are really excited about what God has planned for us as a church and by “us” I mean everyone who calls Cockburn his or her home.  The Church is the Body of Christ and you are all a part of that body so our prayer is that you will all come to know that God has gifted you in a unique way in order to serve the body, the church.  When we all come together and serve each other with the gifts God has given us then the Body is working as God intended it (1 Cor 12).  If you don’t currently serve anywhere we really need you to - not as a body to plug a gap but because God has given you a gift, a talent, an ability that was intended to serve the Body as a whole.  Whether you realise or not, you are gifted, and for Cockburn to fulfil the call that God has then we need everyone to bring their gifts to the table (and we’re not just saying this cause we really need more volunteers we really do just want everyone to be involved!!!).  If you're not sure where to volunteer check out  the sign up sheets in the foyer.

VOLUNTEERS
ATTENTION PARENTS - We would love to have more Mums and Dads join our KidzChurch Team.  Your experience with your own kids could be very valuable to us. As well you get to see first hand what your kids are up to in church.  Best of all it is heaps of fun.  Come on get involved, talk to Sharon today.

YOUTH UPDATE
Transport from Cockburn Central now leaves at 7pm so you can arrive any time from 6.30pm.  Pick up time is still 9.30pm sharp!  If you need more info email Adam.

SUBWAY
Is available every Sunday now.  Just text your order before 10:30am and it will be ready to pick up from the Café after the service.  For more details grab a Subway card from the Info Desk.

ACCELERATE
Our mid-week teaching programme known as Accelerate is now bi-monthly! Sessions run 7.30-9pm at Burswood & Cockburn Central. Participation notes and location times are online . September's theme is Everyday Evangelism and kicks off at the Burswood Campus only on Monday 8th - with special guest Sy Rogers.  Cockburn Central starts again on the 18th September where we will be listening to a podcast of the Monday night teaching from Burswood.

HERTIME OCCAISION: 24TH & 25TH SEPTEMBER
Our ever-popular HERTIME OCCASSION will be on the 24th & 25th September. Mark the dates in your diary and start thinking about who you can invite. More details online & invitation cards available from the Info Desk.

MONEY MATTERS: 18TH SEPTEMBER @ 7:15PM
If the whole area of money management and budgeting has you a little stressed out and perplexed then come along to our Money Matters course.  You’ll receive practical advice on how to manage your personal finances including information on debt, loans and financing.  Register at the Info Desk or send me an email by the 14th September.

DOULOS
The Doulos will be docked at Fremantle from the 10th – 28th October.  The Doulos is a boat that sails around the world spreading the gospel and bringing aid.  While here you will be able to come aboard for a tour, to visit the world famous bookshop they have onbaord or you can attend a conference.   The staff of the Doulos are also in need of volunteers to help out while the boat is here.  For more information follow the link www.doulosdownunder.org.au .

MENTORS NEEDED
At South Coogee Primary we are in real need of male mentors to work with some boys in Y2-3. Is there anyone in your congregation with this gift who has an hour to spare on a weekly basis during term time? TENNIS-A-THON
The school Chaplains in our area are looking for people from the local community to help organise this fundraising event.   These chaplains are on the front line and are doing a brilliant job of supporting the children and families in and around Cockburn but they need to raise $10,000 before the end of the year in order to continue doing what they do.  If you would like to help out you can email Rachel Bargerbos for more information.
