The other morning after our weekly prayer meeting I was standing at the back of our auditorium with one of the members of our church.  He was simply standing there looking towards the stage and then he commented to me on what a really great church this is and what a great venue we have.  His words came from such a grateful heart that they really struck me.  It was a reminder to me how easy it is to take your focus off all that we have and get stuck focusing on what’s missing.  In Colossians 2:7 it talks about being “overflowing with thankfulness”.  I don’t know about you but sometimes (a lot of the time) I find it really good to be reminded to be thankful because God has blessed us so abundantly.

YOUTH: SMS SYSTEM
So that we know how many leaders and cars we need on a Friday night we are introducing a new SMS system.  If  you are planning on attending youth on a Friday night you will need to send an SMS to 0488 786 329 by 1pm the previous Thursday.  Alternatively you can send Adam an email (adamm@riverviewchurch.com.au).

KIDZ2GATHER
Thanks to the nearly 40 kids, many of whom were not regular Cockburn Kids, who came to Kidz2Gather during the October school holidays. Everyone had a great time and I’m sure this will be just the 1st of many more Kidz2Gathers.  We would like to extend a big thanks to Stephen Klyen, for pulling it together. Thanks also to Kathryn Harken, Fleur-Elise Greive, Victoria Brown, and Katherine Arno who did such a great job with the kids, as well as Kate Black and Adam who hung around to make sure all the techy stuff worked well for us.

CLEANING
We are in need of someone to help out with cleaning our building midweek.  If you’ve got a couple of hours to spare and you can handle a vacuum then let me know – dalem@riverviewchurch.com.au.

SAFETY TEAM
As part of our Service Team’s area we are looking for some people to join a Safety Team Roster.  This role would entail patrolling the building and car parks during the service.  If you are interested please contact Adam .

ACCELERATE: 6th NOVEMBER
Our mid-week teaching programme known as Accelerate is now bi-monthly! Sessions run 7.30-9pm at Burswood & Cockburn Central. Participation notes and location times are online .

WOMEN’S CONNECT GROUP: SAMSON/KARDINYA AREA
We have a women’s connect group that has recently started in Samson.  If you are looking to get involved in a connect group then contact Hilary.

MEALS
We are desperate for some more meals for our freezer.  We try to always have meals on hand to be able to give people when they’re going through a hard time.  If this is something you would like to do we just ask that you put the meal in a disposable container and write on the top what it is.  The meals can be brought to the café on a Sunday morning to be put into the freezer.

LOST PROPERTY
We have collected quite a lot of your stuff over the past few months.  If you’re missing clothing, bibles, glasses, etc then check out the lost property box in the café.
