So, how are all of your Christmas preparations going? Personally, I have made a vow to myself that this year that I am just not going to get stressed out about Christmas. I think it’s incredibly sad that a day that is all about peace and joy ends up creating so much drama and pressure. Why is it so easy to put ourselves under so much pressure at this time of year? My advice is to regularly remind yourself to breathe, to say “no” wherever possible and not over commit yourself, and to be diligent in keeping the peace and joy of Christ at the centre of it all.
Let’s take a look at what’s on this month at Cockburn…

MEALS
We are desperate for some more meals for our freezer. We try to always have meals on hand to be able to give people when they’re going through a hard time. If this is something you would like to do we just ask that you put the meal in a disposable container and write on the top what it is. The meals can be brought to the café on a Sunday morning to be put into the freezer.
CLEANING
We are in need of someone to help out with cleaning our building midweek. If you’ve got a couple of hours to spare and you can handle a vacuum then please contact Hilary.
SAFETY TEAM
As part of our Service Team’s area we are looking for some people to join a Safety Team Roster. This role would entail patrolling the building and car parks during the service. If you are interested please contact Adam.
KIDZCHURCH: TAKING A BREAK OVER CHRISTMAS
Here at Cockburn we would like to say a big thank you and Merry Christmas to our fantastically dedicated KidzChurch Leaders and Volunteers. For this reason we are giving them some time off. This means there will be NO Children’s facilities on December 28, January 4 and January 11. Kidz Packs will be available from the Info Centre and the upstairs Primary Room will also be set up as a big Parents Room, with child friendly books and DVD’s, puzzles, colouring in and more. We will also be running a Weekly Colouring Competition for our Little People and Primary Zone kids. Children will be able to grab a colouring in each week at Meet and Greet time and return it and the colouring in pencils to the Competition box at the end of the service for a lollypop. Winners will be announced the following week.
Thanks for all your support and we look forward to seeing all the kids back in KizChurch after the break, on January 18.
