The kids are heading back to school and life is beginning to return to normal (whatever that is?).   Things are also starting to gather pace here at Cockburn and with that in mind let’s take a look at what’s on this month…

HERTIME DAYS STARTING @ COCKBURN CENTRAL
As many of you would have already heard, Hertime Days will be starting down here at the South Campus on the 19th February.  We will be starting off monthly at first while we are building our teams up and then moving to fortnightly.  We are really excited about this and I know that many of you (I’m speaking to the women here), have been waiting for this for a long time.  However, for Hertime Days to happen at Cockburn, we are going to need your help.  There are a bunch of volunteer roles that we need to fill.  If you are keen to get on board and become part of the Hertime Team then please send me an email.

One area that we really need help with is Children’s Workers.  For Hertime Days, this is a paid role.  If you or anyone else you know would be interested in helping out in our children’s area then please contact sharonw@riverviewchurch.com for more information.

PRINCIPLED PARENTING:  12th FEB
Have you ever found yourself asking these questions
· Why on earth did we ever have children?
· What is wrong with me as a parent?
· What is wrong with this child? Why does he/she want to do things so differently from me?
Then consider coming along to our Principled Parenting course.  This course runs for 6 weeks and is taught by Graham and Gai Irvine, our Family Pastors here at Riverview.  The cost is $60.  For more information or to register send me an email or go to the Info Desk after the service.  We need at least 6 families before we can run the course so RSVP ASAP.  And if there is anyone you know of that could benefit from a course like this then please let them know about.  This is not just a great resource for our church but also for the whole community.

CONNECT MIX: 1ST FEB
For all of you who are wanting to get involved in a Connect Group or for Leaders who are looking for more people for their group then come on up to the Primary Zone area after the service this Sunday.  There will be plently of pizza and people.  What more do you need?  For more info, contact Hilary .

PRAYER MEETING: WEDNESDAY MORNINGS @ 7:30AM

RIVERVIEW TOGETHER: 8TH FEB
All campuses will be coming together for Sunday night church in the park.  Keep an eye out on Church News for more details.

ACCELERATE: 5TH FEB @ 7:30PM
We will be running every Thursday night this year with a combination of podcasted teaching from our Accelerate team and DVD presentations.

BABY DEDICATION:  8TH MARCH
If you or anyone else you know has a bub or older children that they would like to have dedicated then fill out a registration form at the Info Desk on Sunday or send me an email .

SUNDAY SUBWAY: 22ND FEB
It’s back!!!  Get your mobiles and get ready to text your orders through.  One Sunday only.

COCKBURN CENTRAL SOCIAL:  27TH FEB
Not sure what we’re doing yet but mark my words, it will be fun.  This is a social event that is open to everyone in the church.  Keep an ear out for Church News for more information.

IGNITE
We currently don’t have enough people to run the Ignite Course from Cockburn but if you are a new Christian, you know of any new Christians or you feel you could do with a refresher in the basics of Christianity then the Ignite course is running at the Burswood Campus starting the 8th February.

BUILDING BUSINESS LEADERS BREAKFAST: 19th MARCH @ 7:30AM

MIGHTY MENS CONFERENCE: 27th FEB to 1st MARCH
This is a 3-day conference headed by Angus Buchan, the author of the book ‘Faith Like Potatoes’.  Our very own Paul Morrison will be heading up the worship for this event and I have no doubts that it will be absolutely life changing.  For more info and to register go to www.mightymensconference.org.au.

VOLUNTEERS ORIENTATION: 8th FEB
Sharon will be running an orientation during the service for all people who are interested in volunteering in our Children’s Ministry.  For more information contact Sharon.

YOUTH: 6TH FEB
Riverview’s youth program will kick off again at the Burswood campus on the 6th Feb.  We won’t be organising transport from Cockburn this year but if you are interested in carpooling with other families please drop Adam a note.

YOUNG ADULTS:  6TH FEB
If you consider yourself to be a young adult (if you’re not sure, ask me and I’ll let you know) then our Cockburn Young Adults will be having their first social get together on Friday night the 6th Feb in Freo.  For more information, drop Dale a line.
