Kids at Riverview

Family really matters to us!

Riverview Kids is an exciting, adventurous and vibrant children’s community. During our Sunday gatherings, we have dedicated spaces for children between the ages of 2 months and Year 6. Through interactive story-telling, music, prayer and play, we aim to partner with God in laying a foundation of faith, love and trust in Jesus.

Welcome!

My name is Molly and I’m a Family Pastor here at Riverview. We’re really glad you’re considering visiting us!

Here at Riverview, we are all about creating spaces for children to encounter God and find community. We have an incredible children’s ministry designed specifically for children aged 2 months to year 6.

If you’re planning on joining us on a Sunday, to make your experience a little more simple, we’d love to invite you to fill out this form before you arrive.

What to Expect

Each Sunday our program includes games & activities, praise & worship led by our Kids Worship Team, a Bible message relevant to the age group and heaps of fun!
We currently have three age-specific Kids programs that run during each Sunday service; Wonder (2 months to 3 years), Rumble (pre-kindy to pre-primary) and Launch (year 1 to year 6).

Riverview Kids Volunteers

Our Riverview Kids volunteers are passionate about teaching kids about Jesus, having fun and partnering with families.
All of our volunteers have Working With Children’s Checks and have undergone Church Safe Training. We maintain strict leader to child ratios in all our rooms to ensure the safety of your children.

Check-In & Check-Out

To check your children into Riverview Kids, please visit the Kids Check-In Hub. On your first visit, we will gather some details, (you can register here prior to your visit to save time on the day) and one of our friendly team will then check your children in.
The good news is that you will only have to do this once, going forward you can check your child/ren in quickly and simply each Sunday at our self-check in stations. Your child will be given a sticker to wear, and you will be given a corresponding parent’s sticker. Please hold on to this, you will need to provide it to be able to check your child out at the end of the service.

Parent FAQs

  • We are committed to providing a loving and inclusive environment for each child that attends Riverview Kids.

We welcome children with additional needs and/or disabilities at all our gatherings and have a trained team who run our Star Room, which is our sensory room, available at our 11am gathering.

Please contact us if you would like more information about our Star Room and additional needs program.

  • Where possible, we encourage each child to attend the program designed for their age group, as our programs are tailored toward each age bracket specifically.

However, we understand that on the first few visits to a new place, children can be hesitant to be separated from their siblings. In this case, we ask that the older sibling joins the younger sibling’s program.

  • Absolutely!

If you would like to stay with your baby or child, we simply ask that you still check them in at the Kids Hub and obtain a sticker, that you wear the provided ‘Parent’ lanyard and that you refrain from using your mobile phone in the room (due to child safety regulations).

Baby Dedications

Baby Dedication is a public commitment by families to raise a child in the way of Jesus. It’s a wonderful moment to stand together as a wider community and celebrate the gift of every child.

Throughout the year, we set time aside as part of our weekend gathering for Baby Dedications. Life Sundays (as these weekends are known) are a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate how God is alive and at work in our community.
